Maybe you do not know, but I was a ballerina and still teaching ballet nowadays on my spare time. So when I watched this video "Meet The Dancing Prodigy Who Turned Down Harvard" from Seeker Stories, immediately I knew that I have to share her story of resilience and perseverance. And how she works through visualization to achieve her goals. Her interview will help you boosting your positive energy and I hope it will inspiring you as much as have inspired me. Rio Anderson has talent and she is a prodigy - not only as a ballerina but as a student accepted on Harvard in 2015 - pretty much THE American university to be - that she declined to continue her career in Ballet. Rio started taking ballet seriously from the age of 14 and based on my personal experience, I can guarantee that she definitely has a lot of talent because usually you should start ballet seriously at age 6-8 and need an amount of preparation and development ballet skills that takes years to be done to achieve the perfection needed. She had accomplished it through frustration and emotional distress - the other girls were younger and much better than her (she explain on 0:44 sec that she was at the bathroom crying) - and of course, quitting were on her mind all the time. My personal note: Ballet is hard and you cannot improve quickly because depend of your body response and this is so hard to get it - does not depend on you and your wish. You have to work and work to get ready to work twice next time and one day, your body just accepted your wish. And it is so amazing when she said that to be accepted in the ballet is much more difficult than Harvard (01:30 sec) because this gives you an idea how hard is dancing ballet and being an ballerina. When she started talking about her routine (strategy) and how she use visualization (get in the zone) to achieve her goals, makes me think about my business routine. Through Rio training routine, she can "zone" and working on her preparation - with music and visualize her ballet routines. Not quoting her because I really want you taking 4 minutes and listen to her interview, she says that visualization is really important because helps her to see what she likes the performance to be and truly amazing her answer about success; she says that "success can come" if you work hard and believe - she started at the bottom of her class and now she is one of the best American ballerinas - she loves how challenging ballet is and "the improvement that you see is directly proportional to what you put in. You decided how hard you work and you decided how much better you get. And it is all on you. That independence and control is really satisfying" - A truly entrepreneurs mantra, don't you agree? So, visualizing your ideas, your wishes, creating a positive environment to prepare your future pathways, being positive and believe in yourself. You can do it! We can do it together! Positive thinking is not a religious thing - we are talking about feeling good and having a mental and emotional attitude that brings the bright side of life to expect positive results. It is anticipating happiness, health and success and believing that we can overcome obstacles. It could be effective if you believe. I would like to thank you Seeker Network and Seeker Stories for bringing Rio's story. Having trouble on focusing in your business future? Feeling lost or overwhelmed?
